Mustang Cobra Nearly Gets Kicked Off The Track For No Cage – So He Trips The Timers and Waits
When it comes to drag racing your everyday street car, there are a set of rules and regulations that you must abide by if you plan on reaching certain speeds or conquering time brackets.
For the Ford Mustang pictured here, a cage was in order for how quickly the car was getting down the track, so the driver came up with something to handle the situation and make his elapsed time a little bit slower on the board.
Instead of punching on the brakes halfway down, he went to the opposite end of the spectrum and tripped the beams at the starting line, waiting a couple of seconds before launching.
The result, at the other end of the track, was a time of 14.2-seconds with a trap speed that spoke volumes for the car being faster when it reached almost 132mph.
