NASCAR Makes Bold Moves, Ditches Stale Car Design for NEW Camaro ZL1 Body
If we’re talking about drawing in fans and keeping an audience, one of the issues that plagues racing series like NASCAR is that of losing the relatability to the fans. Sure, seeing a full blown race car round the track it speeds topping 200 mph might be a blast to watch but, for the average Joe, they might just get lost and, after all, you have to admit that, no matter what the make or model painted on the front the car, all of the vehicles look roughly the same. However, it looks like in 2018, the Monster Energy NASCAR cup series will FINALLY be taking steps to bring a little bit more of that relatability to the fans along with putting a pretty darn good looking car out there on the track, if we do say so ourselves.
In a recent release, we have been told that Chevrolet will be running the Camaro ZL1 body next year in this series. When the information was released, we thought that it might just be another variant of that traditional stock car with the Chevrolet badge slapped on the front and some Camaro lettering down the side, but when they actually released the imagery of the car, we were quite impressed. We have to say that, especially when compared to other stock cars, this thing looks surprisingly close to it street worthy counterpart. You can’t help but think that steps like these make these cars seem like something more common could help the sport out in a big way, even if what lies under the hood is nothing of the sort.
