Nissan Titan Warrior Exterior And Interior 2019-2020 Next Diesel
Nissan is the latest automaker to jump into the blistering hot market for “adventure-ready, desert racing-inspired” pickups. It’s Titan Warrior concept, revealed at the Detroit Auto Show, takes some obvious styling cues from Ford’s F-150 Raptor, but is far from a blatant copycat of the undeniably successful Raptor.
The most obvious thing about this truck is it’s size, sitting several inches taller than the standard Titan and featuring bold, flared fenders that extend the width of the truck some six inches. Of course, the flares are made less obvious by the massive 37” tires that fill the fenders nicely and help give the truck that Pre-Runner feels.
Under the hood, the only option for power is a curious one in my opinion. A 5.0 liter Cummins diesel mated to a six-speed automatic transmission means the truck should have plenty of torque, but with the Raptor going away from the smaller turbo powerplant back to a big V8, the choice of a diesel, which is inherently heavier than a gas-burning V8 is a curious one. Of course, if they followed the Raptor in that department too, it would certainly draw some reaction from those waiting to claim they’re just following Ford’s roadmap.
Underneath, there are several major upgrades to the suspension over the standard Titan to help the truck live up to the abuse, should the owner decide to actually take it offroad. The longer-travel shocks will help keep all 4 tires on the ground while a host of other upgrades add durability and dexterity to the bottom side.
The truck also features some offroad-centric accents such as LED light pods and additional vents to help with the airflow. The interior features some additional gauges and switches to further set the Warrior apart from the standard version. While it’s still a concept, the truck looks to be fairly close to production-ready in its current state, so hopefully, we will see something very similar hitting showrooms in the not-too-distant future.
