If there is one thing that automotive YouTube has taught us, it’s that we should never judge a book by its cover. Sure, from a distance, this old truck might look like something that’s used on a farm. However, when the driver lays into the throttle, we find that this thing is anything but a simple work truck.
The cameras from That Racing Channel were rolling to see what the truck is really all about. With the help of a Dart 427 with a pair of 88mm turbos, the machine is really kicked up a notch. Upon approaching the beast and taking a close look, eventually, we begin to dissect the wolf in sheep’s clothing.
When the truck hits the streets, it’s no holds barred. It doesn’t matter if the opposition has two wheels or four. This incredible machine isn’t backing down from a little bit of a throwdown. In the mix, we find the likes of a GSXR 1000 that is begging to be raced. As you might’ve guessed, the truck certainly provides a better run than the rider was expecting.
The owner tells us that, when it comes to the quarter-mile, the truck runs middle 9s with trap speeds approaching 150 mph. However, in the same breath, we also learn that those passes certainly weren’t full effort. In any case, the truck is certainly slinging around some performance figures that are likely going to catch most off guard.
By following along with the video below, we get to join in on the action. On a warm day in February down in Oklahoma, the top was popped off of this unlikely performance machine. Being able to get a front-row seat to it all is definitely a special experience.
