Old vs New – 2014 vs 2017 Ford Raptor Drag Race: And the Fastest Raptor is…
It should come as no surprise that the 2017 Ford F150 Raptor is considerably faster than the original Raptor, introduced in 2014. With nearly 40 more horsepower – right at a 10% increase – on tap from the boosted six cylinder over the torquey V8 from the 2014 model, these results were predictable to say the least.
That doesn’t mean we don’t want to see the side-by-side race between the two, to prove once and for all just how much quicker the turbocharged version is than the naturally aspirated iteration. I really did expect the V8 to keep things close for a bit while the turbos spooled on the six-banger, but apparently lag is not an issue, as the 2017 ripped off an impressive 6.1-second zero-to-sixty time while absolutely demolishing its older brother.
Thanks to The Fast Lane Truck channel for their footage, and we can’t wait to see the Moab off-road comparison they mention at the end of this clip!
