Police in Southern California Are Warning Motorists About a Rise in So-Called “Slider” Theft.
There are a lot of things in the news these days that tend to put people on edge as we have to worry about violence, thieves, and all sorts of other threats that might be coming our way. While it does seem as if a lot of times, much of the media does all that they can to attempt to bolster the fear factor in order to make sure that people keep on watching, real world situations might not actually be as scary as the media will tell you but it’s still important to always try to keep a watchful eye out because you never really know when a bad person is going to come out of the blue and try to take advantage of a situation.
One of the more recent criminals caught in the act is an individual that they are calling a “Slider.” He earned this name by sliding around gas stations, creeping around down low and managing to pop open doors while the car’s driver is on the other side of the vehicle pumping gas. Once inside the car, the criminal will get his hands on anything that looks to be of value before making his way into the distance and making off with the goods before anybody even could tell the difference. Before long, though, it was all caught on camera.
Follow along down in the video below and you’ll be able to see the alarming security footage that shows this individual who was able to be incredibly sneaky, finding his way to car doors and popping them open with complete stealth. I guess that you can add locking up your car at the pump to the list of things that you might want to do if you’re looking to avoid a situation like this.
