When it comes to airplanes flying thousands of feet above the ground, it’s obviously of utmost importance that they are safe beyond measurement.

How exactly, do the engineers go about ensuring this before the plane ever leaves the ground? Well, let’s just say that the process looks to be rather expensive!

Through the use of some insane equipment, the guys at Airbus put an insane mechanical load on the wings to simulate tough flying conditions, similar to those that the airplane would see in outer space, far beyond what it will see flying within Earth’s atmosphere. Among the other test is also a pressurization evaluation that will make sure the plane is able to handle the change in elevation.
