Real Barn Find 1965 Mustang Fastback A/FX Gasser
Even if you are a fan of modern performance, you have to take a look back at the days of old to see exactly where things were before they evolved to the place that they are today. It was all of that lineage that makes all of the racing technology of today a possibility.
This time, we take a dip into a rather interesting case of old-school drag racing history as we look at a 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback A/FX gasser that had been hiding out in a basement for 32 years outside of a farmhouse in Albany, left to do nothing but sit and rot.
When the person behind the camera heard about the car at the end of the 2011 season, he couldn’t help but go and check it out and when he did finally lay eyes on it, he says that he almost instantly purchased the vehicle to bring it back to life in his very own way.
According to what the owner says, the car had seen some heavy track time in 1967 and for the next decade on but afterward, it had been sitting in a barn and left to die if he hadn’t come along. He continues on that he doesn’t know the exact mileage of the car but it would be really interesting to see because if it was only used to make quarter mile passes, it really couldn’t be that high and the fact that it was sitting indoors all that time really means that it’s in great condition for the age. Check out the video below to get the tour of the car and hear it fired up and running. Seeing something like this come back to life is really a treat to lay your eyes on!
