Rob Dahm’s AWD 4 Rotor RX-7 Burnout is Pure Mayhem
If we were to hear Rob Dahm’s plan for his latest build from anyone else, we might just laugh it off. Conceptually, what he was planning was absolutely insane. Okay, there are probably some master fabricators in this world who could make it happen. However, for the vast majority of wrench turners, something like this is probably out of reach. After all, when looking at such a project, it would probably lead many to wonder where one would even start.
In this one, we’re greeted by the finished product. Essentially, what we’re looking at is the import version of a Hoonicorn inspired creation. Everyone who knows the Hoonicorn Ford Mustang recognizes the twin-turbo, big power, all-wheel drive Mustang as an absolute freak. When piloted by Ken Block who drives like an absolute mad man, it’s pretty hard not to drool over the combo.
This time, we find Rob’s contraption which is more or less a reimagined import version of the Hoonicorn. In order to get to the final destination, he would combine a 1000 hp 4 rotor with a Hoonicorn inspired AWD and suspension setup. All of it would be handsomely packaged in a Mazda RX-7 FD body. When all is said and done, “violent” only begins to describe this machine. The sound that it spits out is unlike any other. When combining that with an all-wheel-drive burnout, all of our senses are tingling over the display.
By following along with the video below, we can get a look at what is essentially one of Rob’s ways of testing the car. Putting on such a display with a newer build in front of a crowd can be a little bit nerve-racking. However, all goes well as this dream machine comes to life with an AWD burnout. There are a lot of builds out there in the YouTube universe. However, this one might just be one of the most jaw-dropping of them all.
