Rowdy Jeep Plays In the Sand

The guys over at Busted Knuckle Films have caught up with yet another crazy offroad ride, this time capturing a badass little Jeep that has a ridiculous amount of power, but with a setup that definitely different than what we’re used to seeing in this environment.

Most of the rides featured in Busted Knuckle videos are custom-built rock crawlers and bouncers with intricately shaped roll cages and chassis built around the drivers compartment and drivetrain, with massive long-travel suspensions and big meaty mud tires.

This is very much a Jeep. It does have a roll cage, but it’s just a few bars welded around and above the driver and passenger seats. It still has quite a bit of what appears to be a stock style Jeep body, including the hood and doors. And the suspension seems to be practically nonexistent compared to what we’re used to seeing the in sand dunes. If you watch this thing as it screams across the sand, there’s hardly any suspension movement at all, which is unusual because you can see that the sand is hardly smooth and pretty much every other vehicle you see in the background of this clip has a couple of feet of suspension travel.

I really wish we knew more about what was under the hood of this thing. There’s literally no info about it, and the engine itself is only visible for a few brief seconds of the video. It appears to be a standard small block Chevy with a supercharger bolted to the top, and there’s a nitrous bottle mounted in the rear, so even a mild engine combo with a supercharger and nitrous should be cranking out 800 horsepower or more, with potential to make quite a bit more.

Whether this is your typical offroad build or not, there’s no denying this thing sounds insane and looks like it would be a lot of fun to take for a spin across the sand. I’m not gonna lie, I kind of want to know what it would do if the paddle tires were replaced with slicks and it was taken for a run down the drag strip!
