Runaway Boat Causes Havoc in Indiana Lake, Onlookers Get Way More Than They Bargained For
Every once in a while, you might become a party to a situation that you just take one look at and realize that maybe it’s better to take a step back and become a spectator rather than getting up close to the action and trying to see what’s going on. In this one, that exact series of events unfolded as a boat in Indiana Lake ended up going rogue and causing quite the commotion. The plot twist here is that nobody was on board at the time as the boat ran away, blasting around the lake under full throttle and kicking up wake as it rode, operating sporadically with a whole gathering of people nearby to see what would eventually happen.
When I cracked into this video, I found myself wondering why exactly those folks in the small aluminum boat were sitting so close to the action. With a boat like that at wide open throttle, especially with nobody behind the controls, you never know what’s going to happen. If a wave hits it the wrong way, it could jet off in a crazy direction and end up killing somebody! As it turns out, the people on the boat were conservation officers looking to figure out a way to tame this wild mechanical machine after a situation that would have ten people thrown overboard!
When the boat slammed into a nearby dock and changed direction, it would end up plowing straight into the aluminum vessel and giving these officers quite a surprise. They would soon after be able to board and disable the vessel. As for the reason why there was nobody on the boat, it was said that the driver was believed to have been driving while intoxicated when he cut too sharply into a wave, tossing all of the occupants overboard. Four of the people on board were said to be injured with one sustaining a skull fracture and another losing a part of an arm.
After watching the video for yourself, be sure to chime in and tell us what you think of how close these people chose to get to the action.
