Scary Drag Car Clutch Explodes

While drag racing, there are a wide variety of things that can go down that bring drivers closer and closer to the brink of disaster.

For many of these circumstances, safety measures are put in place and after you watch this video, you’ll get a good idea of why that is.

When this driver rolled on the racing surface, the events that would unfold next were probably about the furthest from what he expected to go down.

Check out the video below that shows the scene as a clutch erupts in the car’s cockpit, causing a shower of fire and smoke that could easily have gotten out of hand.

We’re not sure if this car was equipped with a scatter shield to protect the driver or not, but you can bet that it is now!
