Shawn Out Cruising The OG Murder Nova In The Streets For His Birthday.
While it may not be the #1 car in Shawn’s life at the moment, the original Murder Nova will always have a special place in his heart, as well as countless fans around the world. Throughout the first nine seasons of Street Outlaws, we watched the car undergo a pretty drastic overhaul while remaining at or near the top of the 405’s Top 10 list. From the ProCharged combo that was on the car when the show debuted all those years ago to the twin turbo big block that carried the car through the past few seasons, the Murder Nova was always competitive with the quickest cars on the list, always hovering around the top and spending plenty of time with the crown in his possession.
Now that he has the new Murder Nova, the original has been retired from list duty, but that doesn’t mean Shawn doesn’t still show the car some love. For his birthday yesterday, Shawn must have been feeling a little sentimental – don’t we all when we realize we are another year older? – as he decided to get the ol’ girl out and take her for a spin out in the Oklahoma afternoon sun. We aren’t sure where he was coming from, but we know after a few minutes on the streets, Shawn pulls into the parking lot at Midwest Street Cars, so we’re going to assume he’d been to lunch in the OG Murder Nova and was headed back to close out the day at the shop.
We definitely dig the new car and all the potential it has to dominate the list, but we too will always have a special place in our hearts for the car that spent so much time throwing curveballs at Shawn and the Midwest crew, while also carrying Shawn to countless wins on the streets of Oklahoma and across the country. Lets not forget, the car also carried him to a runner up finish at the most prestigious radial race in the country and carried the front wheels across the finish line on small tires once! This car is seen and done it all, and hopefully we haven’t seen the last of it.
