Spy Footage Captures 2020 Shelby GT500 Testing, The Car Market isn’t Ready

With some of your favorite American automakers, their most sought after performance cars only come around once in a blue moon, really making them even more special. With vehicles like the Shelby GT500 and Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, we’ve seen these models tacked on the end of a run, waiting several years for the platform to kind of iron itself out before building upon it and coming out with a vehicle that’s really the top tier of performance as they give it their best shot. So, since Chevrolet has released the ZR1 for the C7 platform, it’s only natural that an S550 based GT500 is somewhere on deck, right?

If you’ve yet to hear, that fantasy is about to become a reality as Ford has been digging down deep and getting ready to release their next GT500 creation and it would appear that, as of now, they are swinging for a 2020 release date.

We’ve seen some teasers here and there and news has been leaked about what exactly we will be getting when this monster of a machine hits the streets, however, more recently, we’ve had the luxury of being able to see and hear a GT500 test mule making its way around.

If you weren’t already excited about this release, the video below might just have you jumping for joy as it showcases the test mule putting in some miles, muttering an exhaust note that really plucks at the heartstrings. Sure, it’s just a small taste of what’s to come but we really have to admit that this one has us excited to see exactly what Ford can come up with as they continue to improve upon the lineage that they have already set up to ooze greatness. The company has been making themselves stronger and stronger as a performance powerhouse and time will tell if they can knock it out of the park yet again.
