SRT8 Jeep Shocks UGR Lambo, 1600hp CTS-V, Corvette ZR1, More!
The Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 is an interesting beast, to say the least. These machines were built from the factory to shock whoever it was that lined up next to them. There’s just something about the concept of taking a high-performance application and slapping it in the SUV category that seems so counterintuitive that we can’t help but fall in love with it. From there, when you meet people who see this potential to go fast and further throw their own twist into the mix, making these machines go even faster, your eyes are really opened to exactly what a machine like this is capable of with someone who’s ready to turn a couple of wrenches.
In this one, we check out the WannaGoFast event out in Hot Springs, Virginia as the Van Drake Racing team rolls their creation off of the trailer, complete with a 7.0L under the hood with air being forced through it with the help of an 88mm Precision turbo along with a whole collection of other goodies to help support all of this newfound power. When push comes to shove, and it all comes down to it, the combination works out pretty well, rocketing this Jeep off of the starting line and pushing it down the half mile to the tune of pretty consistent passes in the 180 mph ballpark! This most certainly is not something that you would expect to see out of a Jeep!
Now, at events like this, the goal is to reach the highest trap speed, building up the most mile-per-hour possible as you head down the runway. However, it also kind of gives you a little bit of an idea of how these machines can stack up against one another when they leave the line at the same time, creating a half mile drag race scenario. Follow along down in the video below that shows off how the Jeep holds up against a host of other impressive cars not only in the mph range but in who makes it down the runway first! With all of that power behind it, the all-wheel-drive is really kicking!
