Stepside C-10 With A Nitrous Assisted Big Block Gets Down With The Best Of Them
The vast majority of drag cars are just that… cars. However, there are more than a few badass trucks built just for the drag strip, and there’s no denying there’s something extra cool about seeing a pickup putting in work on the track.
This particular truck I happen to have seen in person several times and I can tell you that this thing would be a favorite to win pretty much any drag race and any car show owner and driver Eric Knowles decided to enter. This thing is immaculate, and as you can see in the video below, it runs just as good as it looks. The dark charcoal grey paint is the perfect color for a big square body Chevrolet, and the red fender hashes provided the perfect accent to break up the solid color and really make the truck stand out. Tinted windows and the perfect stance complete the look, but it’s what’s under the subtle cowl hood that really makes this truck stand out.
We don’t know the details of the build since Eric likes to do a little grudge racing, meaning he has to keep the details of the powerplant somewhat low-key, but we do know there’s a big block under there and that it’s being fed a pretty heathy dose of nitrous that really motivates the big ol’ truck down the track very quickly. Of course, as part of the grudge game, the clocks are off, so if you want to find out if you can outrun Eric and his gorgeous pickup, you’ll have to grab a lane and put up a little cash and hope you brought enough to the table.
Our good friend and partner Justin Malcom was on hand to catch this pass, and as always brings the action right into your home or hand, depending on where you’re watching. He gets up close and personal as the truck leaves with the wheels in the air, Eric working the throttle to keep the nose from climbing too high, before motoring to the finish line in short order!
