Stevie Fast vs Keith Haney – Radial VS World At Lights Out 9!
Leading up to last weekend’s Lights Out 9 small tire extravaganza in Adel, Georgia, much of the hype surrounding the event centered around the smack talk between Steve “Stevie Fast” Jackson and Keith Haney, who had a huge $20,000 grudge race lined up for the third qualifying session. With a huge stack of cash on the line, Stevie unleashed his trademark smack talk and Haney fired right back in the weeks leading up to the race, building a huge hype around the race that brought a massive throng of fans to the starting line when they lined up to throw down.
Stevie Fast would take the win in the match race in a great side-by-side drag race that found him just far enough out front of Haney to dump the parachutes in his face, adding a little insult to the injury of swiping Haney’s $10,000.
As fate would have it, though, the pair would meet again after wading through the competition in Radial vs the World and setting up a rematch in the finals. I don’t know if they threw any money at the rematch or just raced for the $50,000 purse and bragging rights, but either way, every spectator left on the property around 1am Monday morning was on their feet when the pair did their burnouts and staged up to do battle again.
Both cars were turned up and many predicted one or both would spin the tires but the tuners had done their jobs perfectly, with both cars hooking hard and blasting to their quickest ET’s of eliminations. At the stripe, the outcome was the same, as Stevie took an early lead and pulled away ever so slightly to take the win over Haney.
There’s no denying these two make for some great entertainment for the fans, both online and on the track, where they put on two great races. Look for them to be firing shots back and forth again at the $101,000-to-win Sweet Sixteen shootout that’s coming up in just a few short weeks.
