Stevie Jackson Overcomes Adversity After His Wreck and Returns to Lights Out 8 With a Vengeance
Steve Jackson’s Radial vs the World saga has been well documented over the past few months. His last pass in the fall quite literally broke the internet, taking over social media for several days after he took flight in spectacular fashion alongside Dewayne Mills at No Mercy 7.
Jackson was uninjured other than some bruises and scratches, but his fan-favorite Shadow Mustang was completely destroyed, with the engine being the only salvageable component. However, Jackson and his partner, NHRA tuner Phil Shuler, wasted little time in securing a new platform for their blown powerplant, snapping up and already-under-construction chassis at RJ Race Cars and immediately going to work readying it for their return to South Georgia Motorsports Park.
Following a mad dash through the off-season to complete the Shadow 2.0, the car was finally revealed just last week, and Jackson made his return to Radial vs the World action yesterday when he took a nice, easy maiden voyage in the swoopy 2015 Camaro to the tune of a 4.02 elapsed time at only 156 MPH, which is a full forty-plus MPH off of what it should run on a full 1/8th mile hit.
To say they least, the team is picking up right where they left off going into this weekend’s Lights Out 8, and the Radial vs the World field has been put on notice: Stevie Fast is Back!
