Street Outlaws – Shanes New Blackbird Vega Revealed At The PRI Show

 

Fans of Street Outlaws recently watched in horror as Shane took a wild ride in his Blackbird Vega. The ProCharged small block-powered Vega had reached as high as #3 on the 405’s Top 10 list when the crash occurred, sidelining Shane’s climb toward the top. It didn’t take him long to get a replacement car underway as Rick Jones Race Cars had a new chassis underway back in August.

Shane revealed the Blackbird 2.0 – I notice we are seeing a trend with the v2.0 cars on the show lately – at this weekends PRI Show in Indy. The new car will be powered by the same ProCharged small block as the original Blackbird, though it is now utilizing a set of solid heads from Brodix. Beneath the Vega skin lies what Shane calls a sportsman style chassis, built in just 2 weeks by RJRC. From there, Shane took the car home and dropped in his drivetrain, then wired, plumbed and assembled the remaining components to get the car race ready.

Hopefully we will see Shane and his trusty sidekick Bob back on the streets of OKC and marching back up the list soon!
