Supercharged Lambo Huracan in Search of Sub-2.0 0-60, Are New Tires Enough?
Parker, everybody’s favorite Vehicle Virgin, is back with another episode of his vlog. This time he’s on a mission to push his supercharged Lambo Huracan to a sub-2.0 second 0-60 time. In order to help drop the launch time below two seconds, Parker has ordered some new tires that help put the 800 horsepower down a little more effectively, although the car itself with it’s electronically controlled launch mode seems to do a pretty good job of managing the power, there’s a good chance the wider, stickier tires will help.
But before he can test them out, Parker has to pick them up and get them mounted, so he heads over to EAS to pick up his new Micheline Sport Cup 2 tires to replace the Pilot Sport 4S’s that he was running. In true Parker fashion, he takes time to scare the crap out of his buddy Amir by hiding in the stack of tires and jumping out when Amir walks by. After that, the tires have to be mounted, which actually goes off without a hitch, and if you know Parker, that’s actually pretty rare.
Once the new tires are stretched onto the wheels of the Huracan, Parker heads out to test them, only to find that the launch really isn’t any quicker than it had been on the Pilot Sport 4S tires that he swapped for the Sport Cup 2’s. Launch after launch, the same 2.4 second 0-60 time pops up, with one solitary dip into the 2.3 second time. Parker heads into the canyons for some time in the twisties, which does highlight the added lateral grip of the wider tires, which handle the curves much better.
Parker is joined in the canyon by a group of fiends who hit the curves with him. They then head to his friend Taylor’s house, where they try out the simulator from last week again before heading to race go karts. Kart racing is a great way to end the night, and the video, os check back for more from Vehicle VIgins.
