It’s a Hectic Day Behind-the-Scenes at Race Control, Indianapolis Motor Speedway

From the point of view of a spectator for any given race, it might just look like the race just happens. Once everybody shows up and puts their cars on the racing surface, of course, teams have to do their jobs in the grand scheme of things in order to try and take home victory but beyond that, it’s just a bunch of guys running cameras and keeping track of who’s in what position, right?

Well, hold your horses there for just a second because race day is actually a lot more complicated than you might have envisioned in your mind. There’s a lot of things going on that are stuffed into organizing and structuring a race that need to be considered and because of that, there’s quite a crew behind making sure that all gets done.

In this particular video, we get the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes of race control at Indianapolis Motor Speedway to see how exactly everything goes down during an Indy car race. Inside of the control room on race day, things are pretty hectic as they’re trying to line up everything from actually controlling the race and making sure that racers are doing what they’re supposed to all the way to making sure that the video cameras are pointed in the right direction so that the broadcast is done properly.

If you follow along down in the video below, you’ll be taken for a journey that allows you to go inside of the most hectic places come race day. After seeing exactly what goes into making such a race a success, you’ll never take something like this for granted once again and might even think about all these guys working hectic so that you can enjoy the broadcast of your choosing.
