Tesla Doesn’t Want You To Fix Your Own Cars, So This Mechanic is Going Rogue

If you put your ear to the ground and listen for rumblings about the Tesla company, there’s one one storyline that, while it might be more relevant to enthusiasts and not exactly mainstream news, is definitely one that has really risen some questions about how exactly the brand is going to handle fixing their vehicles in the future or furthermore, allowing their customers to fix them. As of now, I think it is safe to say that some Tesla enthusiasts are a little bit disgruntled by the fact that they can’t really get their hands on parts to fix these vehicles themselves as the support from the factory is pretty much nonexistent in this nature.

Now, we definitely get the idea that Tesla has a pretty insane brand image to maintain and it’s very important to the company to make sure that their cars are stay in the best possible condition in order to maintain this image. They’ve worked pretty hard to get where they are so the way that they’re conducting themselves isn’t necessarily all evil while some people might have a sort of knee-jerk reaction in order to see the news that way. You have to remember that, with technology so new, it’s probably pretty easy to mess up for an amateur and we’re sure that Tesla is very aware of that notion.

In response to this news that folks can’t even so much as buy parts from the manufacturer, there are even people out there who are going rogue, attempting to bring Tesla cars back to life by piecing them together from various vehicles that might have been in different types of accidents or other damaging situations.

If you follow the video below, you’ll be able to join in on the adventure that surrounds one of these rogue mechanics in YouTuber, Rich Rebuilds, as he walks us through some of the trials and tribulations that go into being someone outside of the brand who is attempting to repair these Tesla machines himself. There’s definitely a balance to be had here somewhere, though, between complete brand destruction by amateurs and consumers being able to work on their own cars. I guess only time will tell where that balance lies.
