The 11foot8 Bridge Strikes Again, Peels Back Truck’s Top!
If you just so happen to be behind the wheel of a sizable truck, there are a lot of considerations that you have to put in place when operating such a vehicle. Even if you’re in something like a box truck and not a big rig, there are still a ton of issues that make it a little bit more difficult to travel including visibility and clearance just to name a few. As someone who has driven a couple of taller vehicles in my time, I can really attest to the fact that it’s kind of difficult to get used to thinking about how tall your vehicle is after driving around in a car or regular truck for so long and never thinking of it.
As the enemy of tall trucks everywhere, in steps the infamous 11foot8 bridge. Basically, the way that this area works out, if you have seen any of the numerous YouTube videos surrounding the bridge, it just so happens to be a tad too short for bigger trucks to make it through and therefore, truck after truck will try to make it and fail, peeling the back the lid and doing some big-time damage. Honestly, at this point, we’re kind of shocked that there’s not a little bit more to warn truckers to not go underneath of this bridge. It just seems like so many people have fallen victim to that painful fate.
If you follow along down in the video below, you’ll be able to catch up with a truck that proves to be no match for the bridge as it comes up to the underpass with a head of steam ends up being stopped straight in its tracks. I’m just imagining the poor driver behind the wheel who never saw any of this coming as his truck suddenly stopped and the person behind the wheel got thrown forward. Hopefully, this driver was wearing his seatbelt in the whole ordeal because if he wasn’t, I can almost guarantee that this one hurt even worse.
