Among the nameplates that are dominant in the world of drag racing, the Nissan GT-R seems to be synonymous with victory and impressive accomplishments.
Take one of those beautiful machines and mix them all up in a nice little Alpha cocktail and you might just have yourself something to write home about – as a matter of fact, we guarantee that you will.
In this one, we check out a test mule that Alpha is working on in their 12X GT-R that manages to rip off a quick 8.0-second pass during performance testing.
“The tuners have subjected it to a GRUELING amount of dyno time and heat. The HP results have been great. On a 4.0 motor with optional upgrades like our ALPHA Carbon Fiber Billet Intake Manifold, ALPHA CNC Big Bore Throttle Bodies and Syvecs Standalone engine management we have been able to make 1500whp at 36psi of boost.”
While the car did manage to muster 1500whp at 36 psi, Alpha agrees with us on the notion that numbers mean close to nothing if the car can’t back it up on the track.
Take a peek at the video below that shows just a portion of the track day that we’re told boasted consistent 8-second passes before digging deep and nearly cracking 7s during its first outing. Alpha thinks that a few minor suspension tweaks might have it there and we certainly wouldn’t be surprised.
