The BADDEST No Prep Race Is Coming Soon… Bounty Hunters No-Prep Grudge Series on March 9-10
The Bounty Hunters No-Prep Grudge Series returns to San Antonio Raceway on March 9-10, and this event is going to be one of the biggest yet!
In just a week and a half, one of the wildest shows in all of drag racing will reconvene deep in the heart of Texas! The third installment in the Bounty Hunters series, this race promises to top the first two, which as you can see in the promotional video below from San Antonio Raceway’s YouTube channel, were massive successes. Drawing some of the biggest names in no prep racing to the Lone Star State to battle it out for big money on one of the truly trickiest track surfaces you’ll find.
Event promoters Matt Plotkin and Jason Flores actually, who have been known to scrape the track down to bare concrete, will have the track scraped, but only removing the loose rubber on top of the concrete. This will leave a thin rubber layer adhered to the racing surface, which will still be incredibly tricky to navigate for even the most seasoned drivers and tuners. This, of course, is one of the reasons no prep has become so popular; the surface is a great equalizer, allowing some of the less-powerful cars to line up beside anybody and have a legitimate chance at taking the win.
The purse for Big Tire and Small Tire are the same, giving you and idea of what kind of heart-pounding, edge-of-control racing to expect in both classes. Racers in those eliminators will be duking it out for $25,000 each, plus there are several other classes, ensuring there’s something to see no matter what type of racing you’re into. The True Street shootout pays $7,500 to win, the Factory Street Shootout pays $2,500 to win, the King of the Tailgate and Street Truck shootouts are just for pickups, plus there’s and index class and some good old fashioned Grudge Racing.
Bounty Hunters III is shaping up to be a killer show. We’ll bring you a list of the racers in the two featured classes, Big Tire and Small Tire soon, so you know who you can plan on pulling for when racing kicks off on Friday, March 9th.
