The Idle On This ProCharged 69 Camaro Is Nasty!
There are few things in the world that get a gear head’s heart pumping quicker than hearing a badass domestic hotrod fire up and count of the cylinders through the headers while a monster supercharger menacingly whines, waiting on the driver to stomp on the loud pedal and unleash the hellish fury within. That exactly what Steve Grima’s 69 Camaro sounds like, and with no hood in the way to block the view, we can see exactly where the most beautiful noise in the world is coming from.
Grima’s Camaro is powered by a large-displacement big block Chevy, but what really makes it mean is that massive F2 ProCharger bolted to the front of the engine. The F2 is capable of forcing enough air into the engine to produce over 1,600 horsepower. I don’t have any more information about the build or what kind of ET’s the car runs, but judging by the massive rear tires and this wicked idle, the car should be capable of laying down some solid ET’s. If anybody out there knows Steve or the car, hit us up with some info and more video and we’ll see about following up to share more info with our followers.
I have to say, as much as I love hearing a fox body Mustang with a cam and Flowmaster mufflers and even a snarling Lamborghini screaming to redline, there is just no other automotive noise as beautiful to my ears as a big block with a huge lopey cam thumping, counting off each cylinder as they fire. Adding in that trademark ProCharger whine, and the added horsepower that comes along with it, and there’s just nothing else like it. If there was a way to do it and really capture the sound, I would use this as my ringtone and sit and call myself over and over. If I’m ever in a coma, just play this in my hospital room. If it doesn’t pull me out, I’m probably already gone anyway!
