The new Murder Nova vs Kye Kelley’s Shocker at Armageddon
When it comes to head-to-head races with the 405, Kye Kelley is one of few who can claim a pretty solid win/loss record thanks to his consistently quick Shocker Camaro. Last weekend, he had a chance to better that record when he lined up with Shawn in the brand new Murder Nova, a car that had a total of two passes on it coming into Outlaw Armageddon, one of the biggest no prep events in the nation.
After both cars did traction compound burnout to help lay down some sticky rubber on the line to help them get as much hook as possible when the flagger hits the light. It looks like a really close race for the first 60’ or so, but after that things take a pretty hairy turn for the Murder Nova. In pre-race testing, Shawn and his few fought the car making hard moves both left and right. They thought hey had figured it out, as the first couple of hits at Outlaws Armageddon. However, the demons reared their ugly heads again and sent the car hard left just off the line. While Shawn stayed in it as long as possible, Kye was laying down another strong hit and taking the win while the Murder Nova actually go so far out of shape that it crossed the the center line into Kye’s lane. Luckily Kelley and the Shocker had pulled ahead as Shawn lost traction, sending him safely ahead of the Murder Nova.
These guys have crossed paths before and certainly will again, and you can bet with a little more time, Midwest Street Cars will have the Murder Nova lined out and ready to take on Kye and anybody else that wants to get a lane beside him. While the Street Outlaws New Orleans run has ended, it’s great to see them still getting the awesome fan response and laying it down on the track as well.
