The No. 22 Prototype Takes The Overall Win at the 2018 12 Hours of Sebring
When you beat on your car as a casual racer, maybe you’ll spend a couple of minutes giving it all that it’s got as you try to stretch the legs out on it and really see what it’s capable of. Even then, sometimes components fail and you might begin to feel the fatigue as a driver who is looking to hit their marks perfectly on every pass, trying to shave time off of your best lap and push your car to new heights so that you can go home with something to be proud of and maybe push even further the next time that you end up on the racing surface.
However, with endurance races like the 12 Hours of Sebring, you take that idea and stretch it out even more! In this one, we watch the final moments as Pipo Derani and company take the No. 22 Prototype around the track for the last leg of the race as they really lean on it and try to find that perfect balance of conserving fuel and attempting to stay in it enough so that second place doesn’t manage to pull a rabbit out of their hat and reel in the lead.
If you check out the video below, you’ll be able to see quite the scene as the sun has set and the final stage of the race is carried out with lights flying everywhere, exhaustion setting in, and a whole field of drivers who has a will to win. Afterward, you can head over to victory lane to celebrate with the winners!
