The Thinnest TV in Existence is Admittedly a Little Awkward at First
Does it feel like the future yet?
Technology is advancing in so many different avenues that it’s truly hard to get your mind wrapped around it all at once. As soon as you absorb the fact that one thing is changing, another breaking development comes about in another sector. From those things that seem to change culture like commercialized space travel and never before seen speed in ground transportation, all the way to more frivolous things like the way that our televisions are set up. Now, just because the latter might not be the most important and groundbreaking technological advancements to be revolving around the news these days doesn’t mean that they fail to be incredibly cool. For example, when we saw this TV, we had to drop what we were doing and see exactly what it was all about.
Now, the television set that comes from a little company that you might have heard about by the name of LG offers up an experience that is unlike any that we think we’ve ever seen before. No, it’s not one of those gimmicky curved TVs but instead, a television that just keeps getting thinner and thinner. Just when you thought that your TV set couldn’t Possibly house all of its components in a thinner package, out comes the model that’s known as “wallpaper” and it really lives up to that name. While it isn’t necessarily the exact thickness of actual wallpaper, the video from Unbox Therapy does say that the set is probably half the thickness of your average ballpoint pen. I don’t know about you, but to a nerd like me, that’s exciting stuff to hear about!
Now, as we previously mentioned, housing all kinds of components in these things and finding a place to stick the outputs where you can plug your cables and such to run your devices to the television set might be a little bit challenging so, instead of housing them within the body, an external sound bar pretty much encloses everything that the television needs to operate, leaving the actual display to be on an island all by itself, allowing for the ultimate thinness hanging on your wall. Follow along down in the video below and tell us what you think of this display that is really bound to blow just about anybody’s mind who takes a look at it. To be quite frank, when we first started looking at this thing, it almost felt a little bit uncomfortable as it was much thinner than the picture frames sitting right next to it. Something about that proportion just takes a minute for the brain to process and relearn.
