The Turbo on this Honda is Massive! Got Boost?
So what happens when you strap an 88mm turbo on a diminutive Honda S600? You get this, and we absolutely love it.
Instead of trying to tuck the massive snail under the hood, which likely isn’t even possible, this Honda’s owner decided to just let it reside outside the engine bay, where fresh air and small children are in immediate danger if they come to close to the inlet! But don’t think for a second the huge turbo is just for looks.
Quite the opposite, in fact. Under the hood of Honda’s first sports car lies the ubiquitous sport compact powerplant, a Toyota 2JZ from the ever-impressive Supra. Knowing there are no fewer than 1,200 horsepower on tap on a car that likely weighs less than 2,000 pounds (unless there is weight added to meet the class rules), there’s some serious performance potential in this great looking little package. With the car having trapped over 190 MPH in the quarter, it’s obvious the car backs up its audacious appearance! Thanks as always to the guys as 1320 Video, who captured this insane little ride on camera during their recent trip Down Under.
