The Unicorn Truestreet Winner At Thunder Valley Raceway!

Travis Cannon has built quite a reputation for sneaking up on people in his relatively low-key Chevrolet Nova and punching them right in the mouth. The car looks like it was dragged right out of the woods, outfitted with a nice set of Weld wheels, and driven straight to the drag strip. However, there’s a little more going on with this car than you might catch at first glance.

The car is powered by a turbocharged engine and despite running relatively small tires out back, hooks hard, making for a lethal combination. Cannon entered the True Street class at Thunder Valley Raceway Park, where he took on some very tough competition en route to the class win.

Up first, a stout late model Mustang that obviously knew what he was up against judging by the huge holeshot he put on Cannon out of the gate. However, Travis let his car do what it does and drop around him on the top end to take a relatively easy win despite leaving last by a fairly large margin.

Up next, a four-door Fairmont gives Cannon a heck of a race. I’m not sure what’s under the hood of the Fairmont, but it also hooks hard and runs strong, although Travis’ Nova does pull away to win by over a car length.

After dispatching the Fairmont, the Nova has it’s closest race of the day with a good looking and hard-charging fox body Mustang coupe that hangs in there so tight it’s very hard to tell who actually took the win. Apparently, somebody on top end reviewed the tape and ruled Cannon the winner, because you certainly can’t tell at full speed who got there first.

Cannon’s hard work is rewarded with a couple of solo passes when his competition apparently failed to make the call to competition. That made Travis the winner, where he got to celebrate with a nice stack of cash on the starting line!
