The Very First Start of The 6 Cylinder Briggs, Awesome Engine
Gearheads love engines of all shapes, sizes and styles, and we also enjoy building them, modifying them, and combining them just for the thrill of seeing them fire up for the first time as something we created.
In this clip, YouTuber ChargerMiles 007 brings us along for the first firing of one of such creation, a small herd of Briggs & Stratton single cylinder engines coupled together to make an inline 6 cylinder! It takes a little coaxing and fine tuning, but the homebuilt powerplant kicks off and runs on its own for about a minute while it’s creator looks on proudly.
The engine is fed by a pair of carburetors, each carb feeding three of the cylinders. This will reduce the amount of time spent tuning but should work better than a single carb working to feed all 6 cylinders. There is still some more fine tuning to be done on the combo, but ChargerMiles007 is well on his way to having himself a homemade inline six!
