The Worlds Most Powerful Bulldozer, Komatsu D575A

The largest and most powerful bulldozer in existence is an absolute powerhouse of dirt-moving badassness. This is the type of machine we all dreamed about while we were playing in the sandbox with our Tonka trucks, only bigger!

The Komatsu D575A3 has a blade taller than most dozers and can move the equivalent of its own weight in dirt thanks to its 1,150 horsepower engine and massive tracks, which use the dozers own weight to its advantage by helping provide traction in even the loosest of dirt. All that weight – the dozer weighs in right at 300,000 pounds – also allow the D575 to make pancakes out of a pickup truck, intentionally crushed in this demonstration to show just how powerful the massive dozer is.

To further demonstrate the power of the Komatsu, two of them combine to crush a mobile home-style trailer, reducing the dwelling to a pile of debris in thirteen seconds, an insane display of brute force. Of course, the dozer isn’t built to destroy, it’s built to move, and it does that better than any other dozer on earth thanks to an innovative blade design that allows the operator to tilt the blade and lift the earth, not just push it across the ground. All in all, this thing is nothing short of spectacular. I know I would love to get my hands on the controls for a couple of hours in a big pile of dirt!
