This Junkyard Built 260,000 Mile Chevy Colorado Puts Down 1000+RWHP

For most people, if you called their work sloppy, they would most likely take offense to it but for the Sloppy Mechanics, they take pride in taking things that nobody else wants and bringing them up to a more usable condition for those of us who dwell in the racing community, all while getting as creative as possible without spending big money.

This time, we check out the results of one of their builds that takes a Chevrolet Colorado with a good old GM truck engine that hasv260,000 miles on a stock bottom end along with a stock truck intake and stock reused head bolts and gaskets amongst a whole bunch of other stock parts from various high mileage engines and somehow manages to make north of 1,000 horsepower. No. That wasn’t a typo.

With the help of just a couple of aftermarket parts in a big Chinese turbo, a cam with the appropriate valve springs, and a cheap fuel system, all of which is aided by a tiny bit of nitrous, the truck is good to spool up and create 1076 hp to the rear tires. I’m not sure about you, but in any capacity that’s pretty impressive when you consider where all the components came from. Check out the video below to get the complete rundown of how things happened when this truck cranked out that impressive power number on the rollers. All that’s left to be seen now is how long this thing is going to hold together. Will they be able to get any sort of longevity out of this truck that essentially redefines the junkyard build?
