This might be the best rig for going anywhere you want!
It isn’t fast, and it isn’t pretty, but there’s something inherently cool about watching this BV206 go anywhere it wants. In a series of insane offroad tests, this track-equipped all-terrain badass always manages to get the job done.
Officially defined as “a tracked, articulating all-terrain mover”, the Bandvagn 206 consists to two separate units that both provide power to a set of tracks, which gives it the ability to go places other off-road vehicles can’t go. It makes it through waist deep snow with only a minor hiccup, trudges through deep, sticky mud without issue, and sloshes straight through a standing water mud bog. The four sets of tracks give it an insane amount of traction, allowing it to climb steep hills with ease and in turn, make careful, controlled descents down the same inclines.
Originally built for the Swedish army, the BV206 is now utilized by military forces around the world by various research organizations that rely on its go-anywhere capabilities to get to remote locations that would be inaccessible by any other means of transport. There are even some private citizens who have bought them to access remote areas on their property, though we’d imagine most of them just wanted one because they’re pretty dang cool!
