This Power Wheels Hits 40MPH Like Nothing! Full Build Review!
We love some hopped up Power Wheels. In fact, our very own Lila Kalis made quite a name for herself as a toddler when she showed off her mad drifting skills in her own tiny electric hotrod. We’ve seen these things cranked up with extra juice, outfitted with custom accessories, and we have even seen a Power Wheels Mustang converted to a drag car, but we’ve never seen anybody take one quite this far as far as modifications go.
This guy took an Escalade Power Wheels and gutted it, basically transforming it into what amounts to a miniaturized version of the real thing. Gone are the plastic seats and electric motor, and in their place is a seat frame large enough for an adult and a gas-burning engine that pushes the plastic Caddy up around the 40 MPH zone. With the body of a toy and the heart of a junior dragster, this thing takes Power Wheels modification to a whole new level, but it still looks very cool and dang does it run good!
Hit the play button below and watch as the determined kid-at-heart shows what all went into stripping out the old powertrain and installing the new gas-powered setup. In stripping out the old stuff, the frame of the Escalade would need to be reinforced well enough to support the driver himself and the engine, which certainly weigh considerably more than the outgoing electric motor. Knowing the added weight would need to be accounted for, and that he wanted to hit some pretty high speeds, the tiny SUV’s owner did some significant bracing to ensure the chassis didn’t just fall apart under the stress of it’s performance goals. It didn’t and by the looks of the video, it had no problem cranking out speeds its mere electric brethren could only dream of.
