This RX-7 Has the Most Violent Launches Ever
If you want to take the time to break down how drag racing works, most racers will tell you that an important first step is how well you’re able to get out of the hole. While it might not seem like a tenth or two off of your sixty-foot time would really ever amount to anything substantial, most drivers will inform you that this is where the race is won or lost. If you can get out of the hole the hardest, there’s a good chance that you’re going to be able to outrun the guy in the next lane over if the cars are similar in stature. Another thing that many racers will tell you is that this can really be one of the most challenging aspects of completing a successful pass on a dragstrip.
This time, we head out to the Import vs Domestic World Cup Finals to catch up with a rotary powered machine that launches as hard as they come, really squatting down and making its way down the track. Don’t get us wrong, there are lots of cars out there that won’t show suspension travel in any way and will simply plant down and rocket down the strip without any sort of drama who are able to pull off just as good if not better launches but watching this Mazda RX-7 in action is truly fun. I don’t care who you are, you can’t deny that fact.
If you follow along in the video down below, you’ll be able to see Len Bacon in all of his rotary madness as he proceeds to make his car squat as hard as he possibly can after sending some fireballs up into the sky and really putting on a show. If there’s one thing that I think we can all agree on, it’s that this man really has some talent behind the wheel as he drives this car like he stole it and makes it work its way all the way down the dragstrip to some impressive passes that put this RX-7 in the seven-second range of quarter-mile action.
