No Prep Big Tire Camaro Goes For Wild Ride, Collides Hard With Wall
When it comes to the different circuits around the racing scene known as “no prep” racing where traction has proven to be more of a premium than it is a given as the surface is a bit more challenging to race on by design, people will voice their opinions in one way or the other as to why they think racers should or should not compete.
On the “should not” side of the spectrum, people argue that it’s really not worth the risk. There could be a major loss in both the health and money categories if one of these car crashes. This is almost a regular occurrence on a track that’s not properly prepared.
On the opposite side of the spectrum, people argue that these kinds of races definitely have the fans watching and big purses that can offset that risk. It’s also hard to argue with the idea that no prep events are really helping to grow drag racing.
I guess that at the end of the day, it’s all up to the driver to pick if it’s truly worth it or not to enter themselves in such an event.
Apparently, in this race, the driver in question had weighed out his options and decided that he would participate in a no-prep race. Unfortunately, things would escalate to an unsavory position in a hurry. Nobody likes going sideways in a straight-line race. Sometimes, though, it ends with an expensive hiccup.
In the video below, you can watch as the Chevrolet Camaro struggles for traction as the car slides around. It uses up almost the entire width of the track before eventually meeting a wall almost head-on. Luckily, no life-threatening injuries were sustained in the process but we’re going to venture that getting into racing again for the party behind this particular Chevrolet is going to be a rather expensive journey.
