Touching Tribute To Young Jet Car Driver Kat Moller Who Passed Away In A Tragic Accident

Last month, the racing community lost one of its up and coming young talents in an unfortunate crash. Katarina “Kat” Moller passed away from injuries sustained in a crash a Sebring International Raceway after her jet dragster struck a component of the track’s timing system.

Kat’s family, her Larsen Motorsports teammates and her countless fans were obviously devastated to lose Kat, and a huge outpouring of sympathy washed over social media from all corners of the world. Kat was loved by all who knew her, and her passing pulled at the heartstrings of the entire racing community.

To pay tribute to their fallen teammate and dear friend, Larsen Motorsports made a low-speed pass down Kat’s home track of Bradenton Motorsports Park to commemorate and memorialize the talented young driver. Team owner and “mom”, Elaine Larsen, eased down the track in the team’s multicolored Matrix jet dragster, sending massive fireballs out of the rear as she traversed the drag strip. Family, friends and fellow competitors lined the starting line and joined the crowd on hand in cheering in memory of Moller, who had raced with the Larsen team for 5 years.

Cheers gave way to tears and hugs as the car fell silent near the 1/8th mile mark and the team’s tow truck pulled alongside to tow the car back to the pits. Videographer Kyle Christ took his footage of the touching tribute and added a poignant song, which we’ve shared below for those who wish to join us in remembering Katarina.

We send our deepest condolences to the Moller family, to Larsen Motorsports and to all of the many friends and fans Moller connected with throughout her life. While her time here was short, her memory will certainly live on through those who knew her. Godspeed, Katarina. May you race in peace.

This has to be one of the hardest videos I have ever made..R.I.P.
