Trackside With The Street Outlaws At Bristol Motor Speedway!
When Discovery Channel decided to put on their $100,000 to win race at Bristol’s Thunder Valley, they just happened to plan it for the week following the NASCAR race. Whether or not that was intentional – and we have to assume it was – it worked out that the cast of Street Outlaws got to go to the race on Saturday night as well. For many of the Oklahoma natives, it was their first NASCAR experience, and they certainly seemed to be having a great time as they made an appearance on Trackside Live, NASCAR’s weekly pre-game broadcast.
The 405 crew received a solid ovation from the crowd as they walked out, proving the show’s appeal extends beyond the drag racing faithful that have shown them huge amounts of love everywhere they go. The guys all run through a brief introduction before they start cutting up with the crowd, and the fans eat it up. You can feel the excitement on both sides as the fans react to the guys recounting what they’ve seen so far in the weekend. The guys are excited to experience their first NASCAR race, and the fans are just as stoked to have the guys from their favorite Top 10 list there in Bristol.
Kyle Busch would end up taking the win in the night race at Bristol, and a couple of nights later, Big Chief would take the win in the Discovery Channel’s $100,000 shootout. Thunder Valley has a seating capacity of 25,000 and fans were turned away by the hundreds after the gates had to be closed for the Street Outlaws cast and the biggest names in no prep converged on the historic facility. If you have any doubts about the amazing marketability of these guys, look no farther than the stands at Bristol being packed on a Tuesday night for a race that was promoted for about a week ahead of the event. To say they draw a crowd is a massive understatemet!
