Turbo 5.3 Single Cab Silverado vs Nitrous Mustang 5.0 on the Street!
Both of these combinations have proven to be lethal on the street, so when they tangle with each other, the racing is excellent, as you will see!
We have a single cab Silverado with a turbocharged 5.3 setup, a combination that is as widely used as any today thanks to is mix of simplicity, affordability, and four-digit output potential. In the other lane, a new 5.0 liter Mustang with a “small” nitrous shot – the term small being used loosely – to wake up the already-potent Ford powerplant. After a short walk around of each ride, we get right to the action, a single roll race from a 20 MPH kick. The Silverado jumps out to a nice car-length lead, only to have the Mustang walk around him up top. That big top end charge is the reason we determined the nitrous shot on the Mustang is likely pretty big, because that’s usually where the turbo combo would have the advantage.
