Vaughn Gittin Jr. Drifts The Nurburgring in a Ford Raptor
If you’ve been following along with the updates from Vaughn Gittin Jr. and crew, you probably know that he has been gearing up to be one of the first people to ever take a car around the Nurburgring sideways. That’s right, he’s planning to be the individual to cross the line between handling and losing control, becoming one of the first drifters ever to take their stab at this iconic race track and we’ve been super excited to see that display go down as we know that the RTR Ford Mustang that he’s bringing to the table has some insane power behind it with acute handling abilities and Gittin is quite the wheelman, himself.
However, as it would turn out, when the crew would head out to try and capture this experience, they would be met with some dismal weather. Instead of a bright and sunny sky without a cloud to be seen, they would be greeted with the dreary sight of rain and, as Vaughn tells us, drifting in the rain isn’t really as great as drifting on a dry surface. Therefore, they didn’t decide to pack it up as you’d expect and just go back to the hotel room but instead, would break out none other than a Ford Raptor to try something a little bit different and it’s quite the sight.
If you follow along down in the video below, you’ll watch as this full-size pickup truck gets chucked around the track, pedal to the metal, as Gittin Jr. tosses this thing into the corners like it’s any other car. It’s pretty intense to watch as the heavyweight makes its way into our hearts, screaming at the top of its lungs as it shows off a little bit of dominance in an unlikely display that really comes together incredibly well.
