In this day and age, buying a car is becoming increasingly more difficult with more obstacles to watch out for in the process.

Before, folks might have spent a little bit of extra money and dealt with the overbearing sales pressure of a dealer to get a little bit of reassurance, false or not, that everything is legitimate in the car buying process.

However, with the more technologically advanced times have come more technologically advanced criminals and they are sneakier than ever.

This news report tells us all about the process’s of “VIN cloning,” that is, taking a VIN number off of an unsuspecting person’s car and applying it to a stolen car, yielding two vehicles that appear in the system as one legitimate vehicle. It usually goes under the radar, until one of the vehicles gets sold, that is.
