Volvo Trucks “The Iron Knight” is the world’s fastest truck

Racing comes in all different shapes and forms and this time, we check out a land speed record attempt that is a little bit physically bigger than you might expect.

Before this attempt, Boije Overbrink held the record and with this attempt, he would be back at it again to attempt to reset his previous best for the truck class.

Utilizing a truck that sports a Volvo diesel engine creating 2400 hp and north of 4400 lb-ft of torque, the team would head out to the 1000 m stretch of land to make their attempt.

Rocketing to speeds topping 170 mph, this massive rig would set the record for trucks with ease. As you might imagine, the lighter platform with more horsepower was easily able to smash the record. Check out the attempts for yourself in the video below.
