What does the Boeing 777 brake system go through to keep you safe?
When it comes to commercial aircraft, it takes a lot of gusto to slow down the massive hunk of metal that is roaring its way down the runway, but with the engineering we see today, nothing is impossible.
As you can probably imagine, the braking system on the likes of a Boeing 777 is probably under some intense pressure, experiencing lots of friction and heat in the process of getting passengers to slow their roll to zero.
In this video, we can see the landing process and exactly what it looks like when heat is practically radiating off of the brakes to get this thing grounded and to the terminal safely.
Check out the video below that shows all of the factors coming together and a successful landing sequence. It might all seem like a cool, calm, and collected process but it is really nothing short of insanity of a collection of industrial parts when you think about it.
