One of the everyday processes that you have probably gone through shortly after getting your license and going for your first drive is filling up the gas tank. It’s not something that many people want to do but it’s a fact of life if you want to have your own means of combustion powered transportation.

Naturally, with something that’s such a regular occurrence in most of our lives, myths have arisen surrounding different combinations of events that happen near the gas pump and most of these rumors will end with some sort of fire starting.

From using your cell phone at the pump to leaving your car running or even the occasional static shock, the ways that people have told the story of danger that can be caused at the pump are almost limitless but most of them aren’t as realistic as they might be made out to be.
