What Really Happened at West Coast Customs?

Over the years, both people and businesses definitely change. Just think about how many things about yourself have switched up over the last decade or so. We would at least hope that most people have done a little bit of growing up over that period of time.

As it just so happens, the same thing could be said about businesses. Just because a business is operating in one fashion one day doesn’t mean that they can’t switch things up and be a little bit different the next. In fact, some might argue that the best businesses will change and evolve over time to adapt to what exactly it is that people want. After all, if they could do this well, they will be well on their way to making money in the most reliable way possible.

This time, we check in with West Coast Customs, perhaps one of the most popular automotive customization shops to exist. If we take a look back over the history of the shop, there has definitely been a lot of evolution happening there.

When the shop originally opened its doors, it was a high-end body shop. However, before we know it, the West Coast Customs name is best known for its role in the Pimp My Ride reality show that created the tackiest yet most lovable automotive builds that we can remember.

The question, then, becomes how exactly does this brand transform its image from installing cotton candy machines and waterfalls in cars back to a brand that can be trusted with celebrity machines? We’re talking about six-figure rides, here.

Down in the video below from Donut Media, we explore the history of West Coast Customs and their evolution to get to where they are today. Let’s just say that there have been lots of ups and downs on this roller coaster but it seems as if West Coast is one of the best when it comes to adapting.
