What Ticks You Off: Slow Left Lane Drivers

Most all of us have had an incident in the past month or so where we encountered a slow left lane driver. I know I personally see this problem almost daily, whether it be on the state highway I drive every day or the interstate, which I use only a couple of times a week. While I’ve grown to control my temper for the most part while driving, this is one thing that can still incite a little road rage from even the calmest of drivers.

While it’s alway been illegal, impeding the left lane was rarely enforced by traffic officers, but many states are cracking down on left land lingerers, much to the delight of motorists who honor the rules of the road. Faced with fines of up to $400, those who hang out in the left lane will find themselves lighter in the wallet if they continue to impede the flow of traffic.

If you encounter one of these drivers, your best bet is to remain calm – easier said than done, for sure – and just pass them on the right and go on about your commute. As the reporter in the video adds, you’re free to shoot the other driver am evil-eye, hopefully making them realize what they’re doing wrong.
