What is Truly the Best for Fuel Delivery? Carburetor vs Direct Injection vs Port Injection
When a driver turns the key to start their car, there are numerous processes happening at once. Those processes all involve a collaboration of moving parts. All of these parts and processes come together for a functioning automobile.
Got it? Good!
When we look at the bigger picture as one cohesive unit, things can be a little bit overwhelming. However, when we break it down into pieces, it can be a little bit easier to understand how each piece plays its own role. This also makes it easier to pick and choose the right parts for the job.
One of the major components of figuring out how to put together the perfect car is the fuel delivery system. It would seem like the most basic of knowledge insists that this is one of the key components in how a vehicle is going to run.
There are lots of things to consider here as well. Not only do we have to consider functionality. We also have to look at the idea that each one of these respective technologies is going to have a different cost associated with it. There seems to be a far and wide performance winner here. However, those dollar signs can rack up fast.
At the end of the day, is the extra spending worth it? This time, we take a dive to learn a little bit more about each of these different technologies. Hopefully, as our host over Engineering Explained paints the picture for us, things will come into clearer focus.
By following along with the video below, we learn about the different types of fuel injection. Whether it’s carburetors, port injection, or direct injection, there is a lot to learn here. Even those who think they have a pretty good grip on how each of these things works could stand to learn a little bit from this video.
