What’s so Special About the 2020 COPO Camaro? Find Out Inside
In recent years, automakers have really made an effort to give performance enthusiasts what they want. It’s pretty much a phenomenon that has spread across the landscape. It doesn’t matter if it’s import or domestic, car or truck that we’re talking about, there’s a little bit of something for everybody in the year 2020. While everything is going haywire on most other fronts, the automotive community is really delivering on a high level.
One of the ways that they continue to do this is through specialty built drag racing machines. One would think that a low production run that is less than 100 units wouldn’t be worth it for a brand like Chevrolet or any major automaker, for that matter. However, year in and year out, we see that they take the time and energy to focus a little bit of attention on the specialty built machines.
In the Chevrolet camp, We find the likes of the COPO Camaro. This machine is, as we mentioned, a purpose-built drag racer. Produced in quantities of 69 every year, for 2020, we would see 70 of the units produced due to a John Force Special Edition.
Fitted with everything that one would need to go drag racing, the car really offers up something unique. The NHRA even hosts a class for factory performance cars like the COPO along with Ford Mustang Cobra Jet and the Dodge Challenger Drag Pak. In other words, this is about as plug-and-play as it gets to buying a car, trailering it to the race track, and entering it in competition.
So, what about the 2020 COPO makes it special and different from the rest? This time, Rati’s Rides takes the time to dive into exactly that question. In this one, we get to watch as the COPO is gone over with a fine-tooth comb, unveiling every last detail that makes a car like this one a ride to pay attention to.
